Today’s Menu: LOOK ON US

Helping-Hand

I once watched an episode of the cartoon Tom & Jerry, where Tom tried to hypnotise Jerry and within seconds, the poor rat, Jerry, had his gaze permanently on Tom and carried out his instructions without hesitation.

Today’s passage:
And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.(Acts 3: 4-7)

Peter did not need to hypnotise the lame man at the Beautiful Gate. When Peter said “Look on us”, the lame man looked at them expecting some good cash, but he got much more. Every child of God, with the help of the Holy Spirit, has the ability to bring joy to the souls of men by leading others to Christ, healing the sick, giving alms, restoring the wounded, comforting the downcast, providing a shoulder to lean on etc.

The world needs Jesus and Jesus needs you to reach out to the world and say “LOOK ON US”.

As you go about your day, point others to Jesus. He is the answer.

Have a great mid-week.
