“Jesus said, “Remove the stone.” The sister of the dead man, Martha, said, “Master, by this time there’s a stench. He’s been dead four days!” Jesus looked her in the eye. “Didn’t I tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” Then, to the others, “Go ahead, take away the stone.” (John 11: 39b-41a)
Lazarus had been dead and buried for four days- to the human mind, all hope was lost. “How could Jesus have abandoned his friends when they needed him most” must have been the painful thoughts on Martha and Mary’s minds but when Jesus arrived on the scene, the only thing that mattered was not yesterday (“if only you had been here” vs. 32) nor tomorrow (“I know that he will be raised up in the resurrection at the end of time.” vs. 24) but that very moment also called TODAY.
Child of God, as the last month of 2013 rolls by, you may not be able to change yesterday nor can you fast forward tomorrow. What you have, this very moment, is TODAY..
What will you do differently today?
What positive actions will you take today?
Whose report will you believe today?
What profitable decisions will you make today?
What eternal investments will you sow the seed today?
What promises will you claim today?
TODAY is a gift…use it wisely.
Meditation: “Then he shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” And he came out, a cadaver, wrapped from head to toe, and with a kerchief over his face. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him loose.”
Our ‘THANKFUL’ countdown continues.
Have a life-changing Tuesday.
