Today’s Menu: The Escape Route

“…but God is faithful, He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you cn bear, but with every trial, He’s provided a way of escape ” (1 Cor. 10:13)

I remember the first time I took an underground train. I was slightly scared each time it went through a tunnel. Everywhere was dark and scary and I either closed my eyes, mumbled a psalm, or counted 1-10 till the train re-surfaced again. When I got to my station, I was so glad to get off the train and almost vowed I would rather trek next time.

Being in a tunnel can be a horrible experience and could look like all hope is lost, but guess what? Every tunnel has an opening…..a potential escape route, a fire exit, an open door.

So whenever you find yourself in a tunnel of life, DON’T stay there. Keep moving…Talk your way out of that tunnel. Choose to see the light shining through at the end of the tunnel, you were born to WIN!!

Have a great day.

  1. Tunnel experiences are supposed to be learning experiences. A tunnel always has two openings. You enter through either of the tunnel openings and exit through the other. It doesn’t matter from which end you entered, you have to get out through ethier the opening you entered by backing out if you are so scared and still able to function objectively or keep going till you reach the other opening. Mind you, when inside a tunnel, you shouldn’t look down, up or around you! You should stop in your track and reflect on what and how you got into the tunnel and then either look back (when you do that, you are saying: God I’ve missed it) or look straight ahead (when you do that, you are saying: God, what next?) either way, (looking straight ahead or/and back), you will see rays of light ahead, meaning with God, there is hope, way(s) of escape.
If you look around, you’ll find people of the tunnel wallowing in self-pity, confusion, indecision, abject poverty, etc. Don’t be like that for you have purposes to fulfil at the other end of the tunnel. Get up, get going and get out of the tunnel into the shinning light of God. It’s just ahead of you!!!
